How do i house train an adult, abused dog?
Back in November, I adopted a Shih Tzu who was abused by being screamed at, shaken, kicked, her tail was set on fire and she lived in a very tiny crate. She was also allowed to pee and poop wherever she wanted. SHe is now three years old and still goes inside the house. What are some tips for training an adult dog to go outside?
The process is very similar to the way you should be training a puppy. Create lots of opportunities for her to go outside, and experience success.
Praise her heavily. Find out what motivates her (treats? praise? hugs?)
Watch her like a hawk while she’s inside to minimize the chances of mistakes.

Puppy training on a leash?
We’re trying to leash train our 10 week old puppy to go on walks. When we take outdoors, she just sits there and looks at us. She rarely budges. Any suggestions?

Try to encourage her to move using toys, treats ect.
When she does, just follow her where ever she wants to go.
Praise her lots and she will soon get the idea.

Why does my potty trained dog keep leaving pee puddles?
We recently adopted a Lab/Spaniel mix who is approximately 1 1/2 years old. She is potty trained and we take her out at least four times a day but she keeps leaving tiny pee puddles. She’s spayed and we don’t think she has UTI. What should we do?
She could be trying to show submission to you or someone else in the house. Is she nervous around anyone? Dogs are social creatures; they live in packs, and urination is one of the ways they show they’re submissive to their leader.
