Puppy Litter Training

Puppy Problem 1: My puppy was doing GREAT on house training. We allow him to use a litter box and the?

balcony to do his business (we live in an apartment so it is best way to work it for us). Now he is having accidents all the time and everywhere and on everything! We use the “pee here” spray, we take him to the balcony after he eats and after his naps and in the morning and before bed.
He seems to know he is supposed to go out there because he will pee in the litterbox sometimes, and at night he always whiines to go outside on the balcony, but during the day, it is as if since we aren’t watching him closely he will get back to us by peeing or pooing where we don’t want him to.

So any tips? Anyone else have a puppy with an almost teenager attitude about housetraining?

My dogs use the pee pee pads & have gone thru the same thing. I do think it is as you say, “an almost teenager attitude”.

The reason I say this is my dogs are 7 months apart & the older was doing it. He grew out of it & now the baby is doing it. He will even be sneaky about it & not poop on the floor until I leave the room. He knows what he is doing.

Dogs go thru phases just like kids do. The terrible twos, the teen years. Just pray it doesn’t last long. If he was doing good with the patio, he WILL go back to using it all the time.

Please don’t do something stupid like rub his nose in it. My grandson told me his mother did that to his puppy when it peed or pooped. I told him the next time his sister had an accident in her diaper that mommy should do the same thing to her. Mommy still isn’t talking to me.
