The Whippet is a sensitive dog, intelligent and kind. They make good watchdogs. They need plenty of exercise and a safe place to flush would be ideal. They usually do not trust in animals, because they can be considered easy prey. They say they do well with other dogs and children, especially if they are well socialized in their youth. As a reminder, never leave a child alone with a puppy or dog.
Approximate size of adults
Approximate size adults (two years or more) of the Whippet is 17 to 20 inches at the withers (the highest point of shoulder) and 18 to 28 pounds.
Health Considerations
Most dog breeds have certain inherited health problems associated with that specific breed and the Whippet is no exception. Grooming

Her teeth should be brushed at least twice a week with toothpaste toothbrush and brushes for dogs. Brushing removes plaque and tartar which can cause cavities (rarely) and periodontal disease. Dog periodontal disease can lead to pain, tooth loss, bad breath and other serious illnesses.
Her toenails may take into account growth and cut regularly. Nails the rear feet grow slower than before toenails.
Lifetime
The Whippet can live between 12 and 15 years proper nutrition, medical care and excellent living conditions.
History
The Whippet is Great Britain where they were used for small game and later radcing fast. They were first registered by the American Kennel Association in 1888.
