Labrador Training

I am currently training my dog on a leash (14 weeks Labrador) Is it too young to have a choke collar?

I'm training in My garden is quite large and not using a choke collar yet, but I know if possible that age and if not what age is best?

I used half check in my Dobermanns for 12 weeks when I start training / exercise outside. If used correctly, is a very effective training tool and human.
