Dog Training Chewing

How can i stop my dog from chewing things?

My dog is almost a year old, and is just now starting to chew things when we leave. He has never had any issues before. How can we get him to stop? Is it too late to put him back on the crate training? He has lots of toys. Balls, bones etc. How can we stop it?
He is neutered.

it means he is bored and want s more attention twice a day for an hour play with him a little bit more when you catch him chewing things say it in mean way NO like your are growling at him i do it to my dog and it has worked she used to eat my undies and bras and now she does not we take her for a walk in the morning at night and she gets really tired and give him special treats when he is good only
