Dog Housebreaking

ok quick question about housebreaking a dog(labrador)?

after you housebreak your dog, what if your dog has to go at night when your sleeping, and you pretty much walk the dog before you sleep, should i take the water out after 11?*pm*

I would if I were you. Another thing you could do, although some people might not like it, is put them in their crate at night; dogs won’t go to the bathroom in their crate instinctively.

The water thing would be only temporary while house breaking, right? And lots of people feel its mean to leave a dog outside, or simply can’t due to no fence or other animals (Coyotes). Dog doors ruin doors as well.
